I understand that the AUS Engineering Shadow Program is an observation experience. I will be assigned to a mentor who will lead me through the activity. If accepted in the program then during the visit I will attend classes, and get in touch with university professors and college admin. Moreover, I will have the privilege to visit campus facilities including Library, Gym, Student’s Center, state-of-the-art Laboratories, and other university facilities.

While on AUS premises, I will abide by all the policies, rules and regulations of AUS and follow all directions given to me.

Class Attendance Policy: As part of my shadowing experience I will be given the chance to attend a Junior/Senior class along with my mentor of the major I am interested in. I understand that I need to follow the class rules explained by my mentor and attend the full class. You will be attending the class as well as go through your shadow experience along with your mentors without being accompanied with any other external guests. 

AUS Policy on Dress Code Prohibited: Actions/Conduct: Inappropriate dress for both males and females is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, tank tops, clothing that is very tight or transparent and indecently exposes the waist or back or shoulders or cleavage, and clothing above the knees. Moreover, clothing must not display obscene or offensive pictures and slogans.

Smoking Policy: AUS is a Smoke-Free Campus. This Policy applies to the whole AUS campus including, but not limited to, smoking in the washrooms in all academic and administrative buildings, residential halls and parking areas.

General Program Policies:

Please take a moment to review the below points before booking a session.

1. Cancellation or Rescheduling: If for any reason you find that you can't attend your scheduled session, we kindly request that you cancel or reschedule your session at least 3 days before the scheduled date. Failing to do so may result in the loss of your opportunity to participate in the shadow program on any future date.

2. School Day Absence: If your shadow program session falls on a school day, it is your responsibility to communicate with your school and make the necessary arrangements for your absence on the scheduled day.

3. Parent/Guardian Awareness: Please ensure that your parents/guardians are well-informed about your reservation date and the specific date of your session. Your parent/guardian should also sign the next section of this form.

4. Lateness Policy: If you arrive to your session more than 15 minutes late, your session will be automatically canceled.

 5. Guests Policy: The session is a one-on-one experience between you and the mentor. Parents, guardians, teachers, or friends will not be allowed to participate in any part of the session, including class attendance, the university tour, and lunch. They may drop you off and pick you up after the session concludes.

6. Transportation Policy: The program does not provide or arrange transportation. You are responsible for organizing your own transportation to and from AUS. Public taxis serve the area, and a bus station is located a few kilometers from the Engineering Building. You need to ensure your transportation arrangements are confirmed before booking a session.

Liability Release 

If My Child is accepted in the program, I release AUS, its employees and volunteer students from any claim or liability arising from My Child participation in AUS Engineering Shadow Program activities. 

Photo Release

If accepted in the program, I understand that there is a possibility that My Child may be photographed/videotaped during their experience to help promote the program. I hereby consent to the use of photographs/videotape taken during the AUS Engineering Shadow Program as well as the photo uploaded to this form for publicity, promotional and/or educational purposes (including publications, presentation or broadcast via newspapers, websites, social media platforms or other media channels). 

As the parent/guardian of the above-named person, I understand that this Liability and Photo Release must be signed by me in order for my child to participate if accepted.

Booking Confirmation: Once you select and book a session, your application will be reviewed. You will receive an update on your application approximately one week before your scheduled session date.
